Cabo Time: Gloria along with her
husband Patrick and young son settled in Los Cabos in 1990.
Experience: Gloria brought with
her excellent cooking skills, worked with a local Cabo Chef and ran
her own food catering business before
opening this perfect little Organic Restaurant.
Organic Farming: Gloria inherited
her farming skills from her father who designed vineyards for Hollywood
Movie Stars. Gloria and Patrick have gone to great lengths to learn
everything possible about Organic Farming and bought 20 acres in a
placid valley just a short drive from San Jose.
What Makes it Work: They built a
fantastic infrastructure, sunk two deep wells and began to grow their
own vegetables both for use in the restaurant and for export.
That Extra Step: To enrich the
soil the remnants of a basil field were turned under with horse and
plow before planting buckwheat as a cover crop.
The Restaurant: Came to be only
after Gloria found the perfect tranquil spot with a fountain and most
important for Cabo visitors, parking. Cooking Classes with visiting
Chefs are offered. It is a minimum service restaraunt where you order
your meal at the main counter inside, pickup your utensils and dine in
the charming courtyard.
